Abstract
For a set of 64 chickpea trials administered by ICRISAT, the effect of outliers in field variation was examined. outliers were detected using a Q-Q field plot and a statistical test, we compared the coefficients of variation with and without outliers. In almost every trial an outlier was successfully detected and its removal resulted into reduced coefficient of variation.
