Abstract

ICCV7 (= ICCX730008-8-1-1P-BP8EB) was derived from the cross H208 (ICC4954) X BEG482 (ICC4923) made in 1973-74, using single plant selection in 1974-75, pedigree selection thereafter up to 1977-78 and then bulking. ICCV7 is semispreading, is of moderate height and has mainly apical branching; it takes 45 days to flower and 90-100 to mature in peninsular India. It produces an average yield of 1.05 t of seeds/ha; these are light brown with a 100-seed weight of 14.3 g. ICCV7 is regarded as a good donor of resistance to Heliothis.
