Abstract
The current situation of plant virus research in developing countries is discussed. A proposal for improving facilities for virus research in developing countries is presented which includes improving physical facilities, establishing banks for antisera and for seed of diagnostic hosts, organization of training courses, improved access to literature and databases on virus identification, and an improved working environment
