Abstract
Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor) is the third most important cereal crop in India after rice and wheat. During 1995-98, it was grown over 11.2 million hectares with a total production of 9.4 million tons (CMIE 2000). Though the area under sorghum in India has declined over time, production has remained more or less constant due to increase in yield.
