Abstract
This paper covers the benchmark socioeconomic surveys conducted at 5 benchmark locations in three countries (India, Vietnam and Thailand) under the project entitled 'Improving Management of Natural Resources for Sustainable Rainfed Agriculture' (RETA #5812) funded by the Asian Development Bank, Manila, Philippines. This paper presents the data on population, environment, agriculture, industry, the people's current economic situation and their needs, characteristics and professional backgrounds collected from the benchmark sites in Adarsha Watershed (Kothapally, Andhra Pradesh, India), Lateri Watershed (Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh), Ringnodia Watershed (Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India), Tad Fa Watershed (Khon Kaen Province, Northeast Thailand), and Thanh Ha Watershed (Hoa Binh Province, Vietnam).
