Abstract

Constraints to double cropping of wheat and soyabeans on large farms in the village of Begumjung, Madhya Pradesh, India, are investigated. 25 farmers operating 28 acres or more of land were interviewed in February 1987. Draught animals and tractors are the determining factors since land preparation and sowing are likely to be delayed if farmers use only manual labour
