Abstract
Inbred lines ICML5 to ICML10 were derived from different germplasm accessions/breeding lines originating from Uganda, India, Nigeria, Lebanon and Senegal. Individual plant selection for stable resistance to Tolyposporium penicillariae was carried out over 4-5 generations. In trials at 4-6 sites in India and West Africa over 4-7 years, the lines averaged ≤1% infection by T. penicillariae, vs. 46% in the susceptible control. The lines have also shown resistance to Sclerospora graminicola at sites in India
