Abstract

Forty-three F7, 184 F6 and 247 F5 progenies derived from crosses between double-podded (2 pods/pedicel at one or more fruiting nodes) and single-podded lines were studied in the field. The percentage of double-podded nodes varied from 28.5 to 80.2% in the F5, 29.0 to 83.2% in the F6 and 33.6 to 77.6% in the F7. Several lines, including ICCX790173BH-BP28P1P (F6), produced high proportions (>80%) of double-podded nodes.
