Abstract

In 1992, 101 groundnut varieties were grown at Wuhan for evaluation under central China conditions, as part of international trials. In addition to these trials, the varieties were grown in a natural bacterial wilt sick plot caused by Pseudomonas solanacearum in Hong'An, Hubei province, in 1992 and 1993. No variety was highly resistant to bacterial wilt. Among the 19 tolerant and moderately susceptible varieties (plant survival over 30%) in this screening, 12 had ICGV86564 or ICG7350 as their female parent, and 4 had NC Ac17090 as their pollen parent.
