Abstract

Information on genotype × environment interaction is derived from data on pod yield in 33 groundnut varieties tolerant of rust (Puccinia arachidis) and late leaf spot (Phaeoisariopsis personata [Mycosphaerella berkeleyi]), the resistant line ICG1697 (NC Ac 17090) and the susceptible cultivar JL24, grown at 7 international sites between 1987 and 1989. There were significant differences among genotypes and environments for disease resistance, but the genotype × environment interaction was not significant. For pod yield, variances among genotypes, environment and genotype × environment interactions were highly significant. ICGV87169 was stable and high-yielding, with a mean pod yield of 1822 kg/ha.
