Abstract

Breeding for host plant resistance of sorghum to Contarinia sorghicola [Stenodiplosis sorghicola] is considered an integral part of achieving and maintaining higher grain yields. Work related to screening techniques, identification of stable sources of resistance, breeding for resistance and mechanisms and inheritance of resistance are summarized.
