Abstract
Forty-seven lines were inoculated in the greenhouse in Syria with 6 Syrian races of Ascochyta rabiei and screened for resistance using a scale 1 (resistant) to 9 (susceptible). None was resistant to any of the races and all were susceptible (with a score 6 or greater) to races 3 and 5. Two, 5, 7 and 6 lines were rated as 4-5 to races 1, 2, 4 and 6 respectively. Some lines showed differential reactions to the races.
