Moreover, 75 per cent of poor people\r\nlive in rural areas, of which 2.1 billion survive on less than $2 a\r\nday and 880 million on less than $1 a day. Most of them depend on\r\nagriculture for their livelihoods (World Bank, 2009). Thus, promoting\r\nintegrated sustainable agriculture farming systems to meet food\r\nand nutrition needs is imperative for meeting the Millennium\r\nDevelopment Goals (MDGs) of halving poverty and hunger by 2015\r\n(United Nations, 1995).
