	bibo:abstract "Pigeonpea (Cajanus cajan (L.)\r\nMillsp.) is the third most important pulse in\r\nMyanmar. Aberrant weather and climatic\r\nabnormalities significantly reduced the crop\r\nproductivity in present-day rain-fed\r\nagriculture. Adoption of location-specific\r\nshort and medium duration varieties as well\r\nas hybrids are needed to improve livelihood\r\nof vulnerable small holders.\r\nMonywashwedingar is a popular variety\r\nwhich has been selected by using pedigree\r\nmethod from naturally out-crossing local\r\nlandraces. In 2013, ICPH 2433 (2507 kgha-1)\r\nshowed 62.41% yield superiority over\r\nstandard check, Yezin-3. In 2014, ICPA\r\n2039 x Line-25 (2239 kgha-1) exhibited 57%\r\nyield superiority over ICPL 88039.
