The planning meeting and international symposium on "The Agrometeorology sorghum and Millet in the Semi-Arid Tropics" were sponsored by ICRISAT and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), and agency of the United Nations. Co-sponsors were the Food and Agricultural Organization of the UN(FAO), INTSORMIL, a program of international research on sorghum and millet sponsored by the U.S. Government, and Texas A\&M University, USA.
