The largest difference in sorghum productivity (expressed as % of net potential productivity) occurred in the GS2 phase; and the difference in the rainy season was nearly twice that in the postrainy season. Measurements of intercepted photosynthetically active radiation and dry-matter production for sorghum, grown in different row spacings and on different soil types, showed that improved management can enhance interception of radiation by the crop, thereby leading to higher production. The productivity levels reported here could serve as a base for comparing sorghum productivity elsewhere in the tropics and in the temperate regions</mods:abstract><mods:classification authority="lcc">Sorghum</mods:classification><mods:originInfo><mods:dateIssued encoding="iso8061">1985</mods:dateIssued></mods:originInfo><mods:originInfo><mods:publisher>Elsevier</mods:publisher></mods:originInfo><mods:genre>Article</mods:genre></mets:xmlData></mets:mdWrap></mets:dmdSec><mets:amdSec ID="TMD_eprint_8050"><mets:rightsMD ID="rights_eprint_8050_mods"><mets:mdWrap MDTYPE="MODS"><mets:xmlData><mods:useAndReproduction>
