<dc:description>The numbers of adults (of both sexes) of Heliothis armigera (Hb.) taken weekly in traps baited with 0.05 ml phenylacetaldehyde (with or without 0.01 ml ascorbic acid as an antioxidant) in a field of chickpea [Cicer arietinum] in Haryana, India, in March-April 1983 varied from 2 to 79, as compared with up to 900 (males only) per trap for pheromone traps nearby. A considerable number of adults of Thysanoplusia orichalcea (F.) (Diachrysia orichalcea) was also taken in phenylacetaldehyde traps</dc:description>
