Identified through Heckman two-stage procedure, institutional factors and the assessment of the quality of TSC-specific pesticide affect positively TSC adoption, while cotton specialization affects negatively this adoption. Scaling out TSC adoption does not simply depend on the availability of TSC-specific pesticide, but on the delivery of this TSC-specific pesticide at the right time and along with the institutional factors that contribute to the right use of the technology.
