Together, they account for 10% of Asia’s coarse grain production. India is the largest producer of sorghum and millets, accounting for over 80% of Asia’s production. However, the yield levels in India are relatively low despite the adoption of improved cultivars and hybrids. date: 2013 date_type: published publisher: International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics place_of_pub: Patancheru, Andhra Pradesh pages: 81 id_number: BOE 060 institution: International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics department: RP-Market Institutions and Policies isbn: 978-92-9066-557-1 related_url_url: http://scholar.google.co.in/scholar?as_q=%22Sorghum+and+Millet+Economies+in+Asia+%E2%80%93+Facts%2C+Trends+and+Outlook%22&as_epq=&as_oq=&as_eq=&as_occt=title&as_sauthors=&as_publication=&as_ylo=&as_yhi=&btnG=&hl=en&as_sdt=0%2C5 related_url_type: pub funders: Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation projects: HOPE citation: Bhagavatula, S and Rao, P P and Basavaraj, G and Nagaraj, N (2013) Sorghum and Millet Economies in Asia – Facts, Trends and Outlook.
