Being a leguminous crop it enriches the soil through nitrogen fixation and the haulms are a good source of nutritious fodder. Groundnut is attacked by many insects at different stages of plant growth, but only a few of the over 100 insects associated with this crop are economically important. This bulletin provides short descriptions of the insect species most important to groundnut, their biology, distribution, and damage symptoms.
