%X Even though pigeonpea is the second most important pulse crop in Rajasthan, it is cultivated on marginal lands by resource-poor farmers; and as a result, the production of pigeonpea in the state is insufficient to meet the domestic needs. Considering this fact and to enhance the production and productivity of pigeonpea, a project, “Development of hybrid pigeonpea technology suitable for Rajasthan” was initiated by ICRISAT in collaboration with SKRAU, Bikaner, with funding from Rajasthan State Government in 2012.
