%X Pigeonpea is the second most important pulse crop in Rajasthan but strangely it is cultivated only on a small amount of area – mainly due to the non-availability of suitable varieties. To enhance the production of pigeonpea in Rajasthan a project “Enhancing livelihoods of resource-poor farmers of Rajasthan through introduction of eco-friendly pigeonpea varieties” was undertaken by the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), Patancheru, in collaboration with the Swami Keshwanand Rajasthan Agricultural University (SKRAU), Rajasthan.
