abstract: This is the first annual report of the International Crops Research
Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics which has been printed for
worldwide distribution. The report gives research highlights for the
period from 1 April 1973 to 31 March 1974. A report for our first
year of operation (1972—73) covered preliminary investigations'of
Farming Systems, the single program which began activities that year.
