Development, and Government of India New Delhi; for assigning the study of impact
assessment of DPAP Batch IV watersheds in Medak district. We greatly acknowledge to the
Commissioner, Department of Rural Development, the Government of Andhra Pradesh for
providing co-ordination with Project Director, District Water Management Agency
(DWMA), Medak; to guide us in selecting watersheds for complete representation of
variability of watersheds for the study of impact assessment of DPAP Batch IV watersheds
in Medak.

providing all support with active participation and getting required support from his project

undertake this study and encouragement for a good analysis of the study","In Medak district, DPAP – batch IV received funding for development of 30 watersheds in
six Mandal and the project was implemented from 1998-2003 to treat 15000 ha with
watershed development.
1. One of the main objectives of DPAP IV was to minimize the adverse effects of drought
on production of crops and livestock and productivity of land, water and human
resources. In the inception stage 10 of the selected sixteen watershed villages for impact
assessment took up Entry Point Activity (EPA) that ensured community participation
and awareness about the watershed project by providing support of funds for drinking
