It is high yielding, giving average yields of 1.36 t/ha in multilocation trials in Nepal during 1986-90, 11% higher than the control Dhanush. It is double-podded and resistant to race 1 of Fusarium oxysporum. It is superior to Dhanush in resistance to other diseases and pests. Seeds are dark brown with a 100-seed weight of 19 g.
