abstract: Government of Karnataka has taken a novel initiative viz; SurvarnaBhoomiYojane (SBY) to
help the small and marginal farmers to shift from growing low-value crops to high-value
crops by providing Rs. 10,000/- cash incentive directly into their bank accounts for
developing two acres of land. The Department of Horticulture, Government of Karnataka
has supported ICRISAT to provide technical support to SuvarnaBhoomiYojaneHorticulture
(SBY-H) beneficiaries totalling 0.25 million in 30 districts...
