ICGV86252, ICGV86455 and ICGV86462 are sequentially branching (subsp. fastigiata) while ICGV86393 is alternate branching (subsp. hypogaea). In trials at several locations in India during 1988-90, the 4 lines gave similar pod yields to the controls (ICGV87123, Kadiri 3 and NC Ac343) in the rainy season (1.76-1.98 t/ha), but yielded about 1 t/ha more in the post-rainy season (3.04-3.5 t/ha). Seed oil contents (46-49%) were similar to those of the controls.
