focused on major constraints to groundnut production in the semi-arid tropics. These&#13;
are: diseases, insect pests, drought, poor nutrition, and lack of high yielding varieties&#13;
with specific adaptation and requirements. Within these major areas, specific research&#13;
goals have been identified. Genetic exploitation and improvement are considered to be&#13;
an Hltegral part of the many approaches that need to be merged into a single management&#13;
