The objective of the present experiment is to isolate the promising strains of actinomycetes against pathogenic fungi and to isolate the metabolites responsible for it. The fungal pathogens studied include Sclerotium rolfsii, Rhizoctonia bataticola (three strains viz. RB-6, -24 and -115) Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. ciceri, Botrytis cinerea, and Macrophomina phaseolina causes collar rot, dry root rot, Fusarium wilt, Botrytis grey mould diseases in chick pea and charcoal rot in sorghum, respectively. date: 2011 pagerange: 124 event_title: 64th IPS Annual Meeting and National Symposium event_location: University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad event_dates: 2-4 December, 2011 event_type: conference refereed: TRUE related_url_url: http://scholar.google.co.in/scholar?hl=en&q=allintitle%3AIsolation+and+characterization+of+secondary+metabolites+of+actinomycetes+against+plant+pathogens+of+chickpea+and+sorghum.+In%3A+64th+IPS+Annual+Meeting+and+National+Symposium&btnG=Search&as_sdt=0%2C related_url_type: author citation: Alekhya, Gottumukkala and Gopalakrishnan, S (2011) Isolation and characterization of secondary metabolites of actinomycetes against plant pathogens of chickpea and sorghum.
