bibo:abstract "The effect of five plant population densities [5 (D1), 10\r\n(D2), 20 (D3), 30 (D4), and 40 (D5) plants/m2] of four\r\ngroundnut cultivars [ICGV 86699, ICG (FDRS) 10,\r\nICGS 11 and TMV 2] and fungicide application\r\n(Kavach, chlorothalonil) to manage late leaf spot (LLS)\r\nand rust were studied in a field experiment during the\r\n1995 and 1996 rainy seasons. LLS and rust severities\r\nwere low in fungicide sprayed plots in all the cultivars\r\nirrespective of plant densities. Severities of LLS and\r\nrust, and percentage defoliation caused by LLS were\r\nsignificantly more in higher plant densities (D4, D5) than\r\nin lower plant densities (D1, D2, D3) in fungicide sprayed\r\nand unsprayed plots in all the cultivars. All the cultivars\r\ngave significantly higher haulm and pod yields in\r\nfungicide sprayed plots than in unsprayed plots. Haulm\r\nand pod yields were significantly higher in higher plant\r\ndensities than in lower plant densities. A combination of\r\nhigher plant densities (D4, D5) and fungicide protection\r\nagainst LLS and rust gave maximum yield."^^xsd:string;
