%X This paper examines the outcomes of the green revolution in terms of returns on research investments, poverty and hunger reduction, and (gender) equity. Public attitudes toward agricultural research-for-development after the revolution are also examined. Biotechnology and information and communication technology are then discussed as potential tools that may unleash a second green revolution
