Ponnamperuma, Prin cipal Soil Chemist, for his interest in the work. abstract: Analyses of 2M KCl extracts of four Histosols (Tropohemists) in aerobic and anaerobic states showed that they contained significant amounts of organic N (21–102 mg N/kg of soil) but that the amounts were higher in anaerobic samples (following 4 weeks incubation under waterlogged conditions). It is suggested that the amounts of organic N extracted by KCl and other salt solutions should be taken into account along with mineral N estimation to avoid error in measuring potentially mineralizable N in Histosols of tropical lowlands. date: 1983 date_type: published publication: Geoderma volume: 29 number: 1 publisher: Elsevier pagerange: 77-80 refereed: TRUE issn: 0016-7061 official_url: http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/0016-7061(83)90032-0 related_url_url: http://scholar.google.co.in/scholar?hl=en&q=allintitle%3A+%22Organic+nitrogen+in+potassium+chloride+extracts+of+histosols+in+the+Philippines%22&btnG=Search&as_sdt=0%2C5&as_ylo=&as_vis=0 related_url_type: author funders: International Rice Research Institute citation: Sahrawat, K L (1983) Organic nitrogen in potassium chloride extracts of histosols in the Philippines.
