In the All India Coordinated Sorghum Improvement Project trials at many sites in 1980-83, ICSV1 ranked first for grain yield. It also yields good quantities of fodder. It is photoperiod-insensitive, responds favourably to N fertilizers and is particularly suitable for intercropping with legumes. The grains are pyriform and light in colour, with a 100-grain weight of 2.7 g and good 'roti' and porridge quality. ICSV1 resists several leaf diseases. date: 1985 publisher: International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics pages: 4 isbn: 929066102X related_url_url: http://scholar.google.co.in/scholar?as_q=Sorghum+Variety+ICSV+1&num=10&btnG=Search+Scholar&as_epq=&as_oq=&as_eq=&as_occt=title&as_sauthors=&as_publication=&as_ylo=&as_yhi=&as_sdt=1.&as_sdtp=on&as_sdtf=&as_sdts=5&hl=en related_url_type: author citation: ICRISAT, - (1985) Sorghum Variety ICSV 1.Plant Material Description no.8.
