TY - RPRT N2 - ICSV1 derives from the cross of SC1083 and CS3541. In the All India Coordinated Sorghum Improvement Project trials at many sites in 1980-83, ICSV1 ranked first for grain yield. It also yields good quantities of fodder. It is photoperiod-insensitive, responds favourably to N fertilizers and is particularly suitable for intercropping with legumes. The grains are pyriform and light in colour, with a 100-grain weight of 2.7 g and good 'roti' and porridge quality. ICSV1 resists several leaf diseases.
