Recurrent selection for resistance to A. rabiei and other agronomically desirable traits was conducted at Tel Hadya, Syria. All 8 lines were resistant to A. rabiei both in the field and greenhouse and have typical kabuli type seed. Three of them, FLIP90-98C (PI578065), FLIP91-22C (PI578068) and FLIP91-46C (PI578070), have early maturity (≤131 days to 50% flowering). The lines FLIP91-2C (PI578066), FLIP91-24C (PI578069), FLIP91-50C (PI578071) and FLIP91-54C (PI578072) have large seeds (40-50.6 g per 100 seeds) and medium maturity. FLIP91-18C (PI578067) has both early maturity and large seeds
