bibo:abstract "Natural outcrossing in pigeonpea (Cajanus cajan) is\r\nprimarily responsible for the deterioration of purity of\r\ncultivars and genetic stocks. Several insects are\r\nresponsible for transferring pollen from one plant to\r\nanother within and across the fields. The major pollinating\r\ninsects identified are Apis mellifera, A. dorsata,\r\nMegachile lanata, Ceratina binghami, and Xylocop spp.\r\nThe populations of these pollinating insects and local\r\nenvironmental factors that assist in their movement\r\ndetermine the extent of natural outcrossing at a particular\r\nlocation. Natural outcrossing in pigeonpea has been\r\nreported from India, Kenya, Australia, Hawaii (USA),\r\nand Sri Lanka (Saxena et al. 1990, 1994)."^^xsd:string;
