The criteria and indicators for monitoring NRM impacts related to various ecological functions and ecosystem services is presented. The use of simulation models to estimate biophysical changes is then discussed. Following is a discussion of how remote sensing and geographical information system tools can be used to monitor spatial and temporal changes.
