Isoenzyme analysis of a number of enzymes in both sets detected only one polymorphism, for alanyl naphthlyamide aminopeptidase, RFLP analysis failed to show polymorphism, while RAPD analysis successfully detected varietal differences and gave sharp banding patterns; DNA of 3 of the 8 varieties in one set showed polymorphism when hybridized with 14 different primers containing 10 bases each, while all 4 primers used for the second set of varieties showed polymorphism. Thus, these primers with short sequences were able to detect genomic variations at relatively high frequency. date: 1992 type: Article type: PeerReviewed format: application/pdf language: en identifier: http://oar.icrisat.org/2451/1/ICN26%252814-17%25291992.pdf identifier: Rheenen, H A van (1992) Biotechnology and chickpea breeding.
