Smut development was not significantly reduced in a ms line following pollination of inoculated inflorescences with pollen of low viability. The implications of these findings in developing an effective screening technique for smut resistance and in controlling this disease in pearl millet are discussed. date: 1983 publication: Plant Pathology volume: 32 number: 2 publisher: Blackwell Publishing pagerange: 141-144 refereed: TRUE official_url: http://dx.doi.org/10.1111/j.1365-3059.1983.tb01312.x related_url_url: http://scholar.google.co.in/scholar?as_q=Effects+of+pollination+on+smut+development+in+pearl+millet&num=10&btnG=Search+Scholar&as_epq=&as_oq=&as_eq=&as_occt=title&as_sauthors=&as_publication=&as_ylo=&as_yhi=&as_sdt=1.&as_sdtp=on&as_sdtf=&as_sdts=5&hl=en related_url_type: author citation: Thakur, R P and Subba Rao, K V and Williams, R J (1983) Effects of pollination on smut development in pearl millet.
