 Some of the notable ones are: Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture (CRIDA);
 Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya (JNKVV); Indian Institute of Soil Science (IISS);
 BAIF Development Research Foundation (BAIF); Khon Kaen University (KKU); Royal Thai
 Department of Agriculture; and Vietnam Agricultural Science Institute (VASI).
 Many individuals contributed to the success of the workshop. We sincerely thank Dr T D Long
 for inaugurating the workshop. Thanks are particularly due to Drs S M Virmani, P Pathak, Piara
 Singh, Y S Chauhan, and A Ramakrishna who so efficiently organized all the arrangements for
