 Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya (JNKVV), Indore, India; Indian Institute of Soil Science
 (IISS), Bhopal, India; BAIF Development Research Foundation (BAIF), Bhopal, India; Drought Prone
 Area Programme (DPAP), Government of Andhra Pradesh, India; Khon Kaen University (KKU),
 Khon Kaen, Thailand; Department of Agriculture, Bangkok, Thailand; Department of Land
 Development (DLD), Khon Kaen, Thailand; Vietnam Agricultural Sciences Institute (VASI), Hanoi,
 Vietnam; International Water Management Institute (IWMI); and Center for Soil and Agroclimate
 Research (CSAR), Bogor, Indonesia.
 Many individuals contributed to the success of the workshop. We sincerely thank Dr Narongsak
 Senanarong, Deputy Director General, DOA and M/s Preecha Cheuwchoom, Chanvid Lusanandana,
 and Somchai Tongpoonpol, and their staff in Region III, DOA for all the logistical support for the
 Workshop. We are thankful to the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for providing financial support
 through RETA 5812 “Improving Management of Natural Resources for Sustainable Rainfed
 Agriculture” for conducting this workshop. The Organizing Committee sincerely thanks Dr William D
 Dar of ICRISAT for delivering the inaugural address and also for extending his full support. Our
 thanks to Dr Aran Patanothai of KKU for his help in identifying the faculty from KKU; and to
 Dr Amado R Maglinao of IWMI for supporting the participation of MSEC project scientist from
