%X Data on the effect of soil management on soil microorganisms (including vesicular arbuscular mycorrhiza, VAM) activities investigated on two Alfisols in semiarid India are discussed and compared with other published results of experiments including zero tillage, deep tillage, application of organic and inorganic amendments and their effects on microbial biomass, enzyme activity, VAM and earthworms.
