product of the hands-on training program for scientists f rom Asian national
agricultural research systems (NARS) on the use of geographic informat ion
system (GIS) in analysis of cropping systems. The main objective of this
training program was to pave a progressive path towards greater
understanding and use of GIS for meaningful interpretat ion of various
datasets. This publication contains an overview and methodologies of GIS
software. Participants f rom Bangladesh, India, Nepal , and Sri Lanka analyzed
datasets on rice-wheat and legumes using various GIS tools. The individual
case studies showed changed scenario in crop productivity, diseases, and
pests. A few case studies dealt wi th thematic mapping for constraints analysis.</mods:abstract><mods:classification authority="lcc">Agriculture-Farming, Production, Technology, Economics</mods:classification><mods:originInfo><mods:dateIssued encoding="iso8061">2000</mods:dateIssued></mods:originInfo><mods:originInfo><mods:publisher>International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics</mods:publisher></mods:originInfo><mods:genre>Book</mods:genre></mets:xmlData></mets:mdWrap></mets:dmdSec><mets:amdSec ID="TMD_eprint_2249"><mets:rightsMD ID="rights_eprint_2249_mods"><mets:mdWrap MDTYPE="MODS"><mets:xmlData><mods:useAndReproduction>
