	bibo:abstract "In smallholder farming areas of Southern Africa, sorghum\r\nand pearl millet arc commonly threshed by pounding the\r\ngrain heads with sticks and sweeping up the grain from\r\nthe ground. One result is that the grain becomes\r\ncontaminated with sand, small stones, and other foreign\r\nmatter. If it is to be used for food, the grain must then be\r\ncleaned prior to processing. The technologies commonly\r\nused for such grain cleaning (generally including the\r\nwashing and drying of grain) are time-consuming and\r\nexpensive. Yet without such cleaning, sorghum or pearl\r\nmillet meal, in particular, remains likely to be\r\ncontaminated with foreign matter. This severely limits\r\ndevelopment of the market for meal."^^xsd:string;
