The rate of node production until owering in relation to thermal time was found to be unaffected by season and plant density in the range of 4±33 plants mÿ2. Maturity type did not affect the rate of node production on the main stem or the rate of appearance of leaves on the plant. The rate of senescence of main-stem nodes in relation to thermal time was unaffected by plant density and growth duration. The functions developed in this paper can be used to predict the temporal changes in leaf area development in crop growth models. date: 2001 publication: Field Crops Research volume: 69 number: 2 publisher: Elsevier pagerange: 163-172 refereed: TRUE official_url: http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/S0378-4290(00)00137-4 related_url_url: http://scholar.google.co.in/scholar?as_q=Predicting+growth+and+development+of+pigeonpea%3A+leaf+area+development&num=10&btnG=Search+Scholar&as_epq=&as_oq=&as_eq=&as_occt=title&as_sauthors=&as_publication=&as_ylo=&as_yhi=&as_sdt=1.&as_sdtp=on&as_sdtf=&as_s related_url_type: author citation: Ranganathan, R and Chauhan, Y S and Flower, D J and Robertson, M J and Sanetra, C and Silim, S N (2001) Predicting growth and development of pigeonpea: leaf area development.
