The 51 accessions that were rust-free or resistant to rust were rescreened during 1993-94 for resistance to both pathogens. Accessions IS 2300, IS 3443 C40, IS 31446, IS 18758 C242, IS 18758 C603 and IS 7023 demonstrated high levels of resistance to P. purpurea, with a further 9 accessions showing moderate to high resistance; these 15 accessions also showed moderate to high resistance to S. turcica.
