Protogyny, time between full protogyny and anthesis initiation, and stigma length were shorter and seed set was higher in the resistant and intermediate cultivars than in the susceptible cultivars. Latent periods were comparable in the 3 groups of cultivars, but sporulation period, ergot severity, and numbers of conidia and sclerotia produced were lower in the resistant and intermediate than in the susceptible cultivars. The implications of these findings in ergot epidemiology and management are discussed. discussed. date: 1992 publication: Indian Phytopathology volume: 45 number: 3 pagerange: 326-330 refereed: TRUE related_url_url: http://scholar.google.co.in/scholar?as_q=Factors+associated+with+ergot+resistance+in+pearl+millet&num=10&btnG=Search+Scholar&as_epq=&as_oq=&as_eq=&as_occt=title&as_sauthors=&as_publication=&as_ylo=&as_yhi=&as_sdt=1.&as_sdtp=on&as_sdtf=&as_sdts=5&hl=en related_url_type: author citation: Thakur, R P and Rao, V P and King, S B (1992) Factors associated with ergot resistance in pearl millet.
