Statistical analysis showed that location had the greatest influence on protein content. The effects due to cultivar although significant were of low magnitude. Cultivars X location interactions were nonsignificant and there were good correlations among locations suggesting that breeding for improved seed protein content in chickpea could be effectively carried out at a single location.} }
