"Conservation agriculture (CA) has been promoted worldwide as\r\nan approach to sustainable resource management and better\r\nproductivity. Promotion and adoption of CA in Iran have been\r\nreceiving increased attention from the national government over\r\nrecent years. Therefore, to speed up development of CA as a basis\r\nfor sustainable development, drivers that influence the development\r\nof CA need to be identified and modeled. The main aim of\r\nthis study is to present a comprehensive model for CA development\r\nin Iran by identifying the institutional drivers that influence\r\nits promotion and determining the relationship between drivers.\r\nAt first, the drivers identified from the literature and interviews\r\nwith experts, and the relationships among the drivers were\r\nexplored and clarified using Interpretative Structural Modeling\r\n(ISM). A cross-impact matrix multiplication was applied to classification\r\n(MICMAC) analysis, which was then used to categorize\r\nthe drivers in four sub-groups. The results showed that creating\r\na suitable organizational structure is a very significant driving\r\nfactor for CA development in Iran. Strong driving power and\r\nweak dependence associated with this factor should be treated\r\nas a critical driver.
