	bibo:abstract "The effectiveness of the egg parasitoid\r\nTrichogrammatoidea armigera Nagaraja (Hymenoptera:\r\nTrichogrammatidae) in controlling Heliocheilus\r\nalbipunctella de Joannis (Lepidoptera:\r\nNoctuidae), a major insect pest of pearl millet in the\r\nSahel was assessed during two consecutive years in\r\nNiger on-station and on-farm conditions. We found\r\nthat released T. armigera were able to find and\r\nparasitize host eggs within pearl millet fields both onstation\r\nand in farmers’ fields. On-station releases of T.\r\narmigera led to an average 4.86-fold increase in T.\r\narmigera parasitism compared to control fields, where\r\nno parasitoids were released. Likewise, on-farm\r\nreleases of T. armigera led to up to 5.31-fold more\r\negg parasitism by T. armigera in release fields than in\r\ncontrol. Our results suggest the effectiveness of T.\r\narmigera and lays the groundwork for using T.armigera in augmentative biological control of H.\r\nalbipunctella in the Sahel."^^xsd:string;
